The minutes of the Jan. 6, 1998 meeting are approved.

The DHHS rules have been passed.

Immunization records or exemption papers are necessary for students who are "admitted" or "enrolled" It is our understanding that immunization is required of students who attend the school as a participant - for example attend a class or play on a sports team. It does not apply to those who attend events only as a member of the general public. (Handout a portion of DHHS rules dated Nov. 24, 1997)

Legislation - HB 1247 regarding public school access for home schooled students has ben refered [sic] to the Education Committee.

DOE Report - questions being received are mostly procedural in nature. Some on attending classes - others on how students can be permitted to join sports teams. The sports question is covered by NHIAA policies - their president is Jim Desmarais and would probably be the one to contact.

What is the procedure of getting on the distribution list for the State Board minutes? These may give HEAC useful insight.

To clarify a point from our last meeting, the issued minutes from the State Board meeting Elaine attended in December do not contain a request for HEAC to look at "quality standards".

We voted that agendas, minutes and meeting times should be available on the Internet - including as many minutes from the past as possible. Also included should be the rules and their preamble. Angie and Rachel will arrange for this to be implemented.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 3, 1998 in Room 12 of the Department of Education at 3:30 PM unless otherwise notified.
