Those in attendance: Angie LeBel, Elaine Rapp, Karen Tardiff, Mike Faiella, Rachel Hopkins, George D'Orazio, Paul Krohne, Gerry Bourgeois, Robert Horan and Dennis Wyman

Discussion Notes:

The minutes of the Nov. 4, 1997 meeting are approved.

Review a handout of Elaine's annual report to the State Board. The presentation will be at their December meeting, if possible.

Welcome Pat Bussell for a review of current legislative activity which may relate to home education. Copies of LSR 2014 should be sent to HEAC members as soon as they are printed.

Thanks to encouragement from the DOE all SAU's have now reported. The information has been added to data on two pages of charts handed out. One chart, to properly show rate of growth should have both scales start at zero.

Rachel received a call from a lawyer in Washington, D C, scholarships may become available for home schooled students.

Rachel has received only two calls from lawyers representing parents. One was concerned about custody and the other concerning a CHINS issue.

Discussion about the need for a diploma in some cases such as the Marine Corp. If a diploma is recognized in another state, NH will recognize that the other state recognizes their diploma.

The next meeting will be Jan. 6, 1998 in Room 15 of the Department of Education at 3:30 pm unless otherwise notified.
