Those in attendance: Mike Faiella, Dennis Wyman, Jackie Teague, Elaine Rapp (chair), George D'Orazio, Rob Drye and Don Jones.

Discussion Notes:

We have been requested to appoint a grievance committee. The committee is agreed to be Mike Faiella (chair), Don Jones and Dennis Wyman.

Mike will provide an information packet. The first meeting will be at the Department of Education on Thursday, March 27, 1997 at 3:00 pm.

Elaine noted that when we met with Lori Lutz of DCYF in 1993 Ms. Lutz said she planned to clarify in their rules that home education is not a form of educational neglect. This has yet to be done.

Revised Administrative Rules governing the infectious disease work of the Bureau of Disease Prevention and Control, HE-P 301, did not go through the complete approval process. The Department of Health and Human Services is therefore undertaking a complete approval process including publicizing and conducting hearing on May 13, 1997 at 10:00 AM at the Department of Fish and Game, 2 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH. for any interested citizen to offer comment on the rules.

Discussion ensued on some of the concerns about the process by which these rules were "adopted" and the concerns with some points contained therein.

Elaine asked that Jackie bring a packet of the information which she provides home schoolers to the next meeting for review.

The June meeting has been changed to June 9, 1997

Commissioner Towmey will probably be able to attend the April meeting.

The next meeting will be held at 3:30 pm on Monday, April 14, 1997 at the Department of Education in Room 15.
