Minutes

Those in attendance: George D'Orazio , Mike Faiella (Chair), Don Jones, Dennis Wyman, Jackie Teague, Karen Tardiff, Paul Krohne, Joe Rega and Rob Drye.

Discussion Notes:

The minutes of the Feb. 2, 1996 meeting are accepted with the addition of "it was noted the August 1 deadline will remain in the rules.". (see attached)

The minutes of the Nov. 7, 1995 meeting are approved.

What happens when a parent notifies but doesn't follow up within 30 days? The student is truant.

The School to Work Program - there seems to be little knowledge about this program in the real world be it B.I.A. or the education community.

Welcome Pat Bussell [sic], she's been wroking with Senator Wheeler who wants to modify HB 1203 to assure home schooled students who are refused services don't get counted. (see handout)

In the first sentence of HB 1203 draft amendment Section II, include the word "for" before "a child" in all three places.

Jackie would like:

Rob offered to lead a rules committee of volunteers as necessary.

The next meeting will be held at the Department of Education in Room 15 at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, May 7, 1996.
