Dear Mr. Lamontagne:
Thank you for sharing your time and comments regarding various issues which could impact our homeschooling law and rules at our Home Education Advisory Council meeting on February 7, 1995. I hope that you will contact us at any time should you have further questions or concerns. On behalf of the council, I would like to extend an invitiation to all State Board of Education members to also contact us or attend our meetings should they be interested in doing so. I have enclosed a list of projected meeting dates through June 1995.
The council was established by RSA 193-A:10 in 1990 and operates under N.H. Admin. Rules Ed 315.10. Since its inception, the council has had a variety of responsibilities including suggesting rules for the homeschooling law and providing a voluntary grievance procedure. We have also addressed immunization requirements, local school district policies, DCYF policy regarding educational neglect, participation in interscholastic sports, and special education as they apply to homeschoolers, and concerns regarding individual homeschooling situations. Currently, we will be participating with the Department of Education in analyzing data regarding local school district policies. Homeschoolers and other interested parties have been encouraged to attend council meetings and need only to make arrangements prior to the meeetings in order to address the council.
Thank you again for your time and interest.
